The Greg Brady Project

Welcome to the official Barry Williams' blog

My friends call me Barry. From time to time I also hear the name Greg. Yeah, as in Greg Brady. The Brady Bunch represents a fun time in my life. But it’s only part of the story. There’s more to say and that’s what The Greg Brady Project is all about – a place to say it. So, I’ve invited some friends to join me and share their perspectives on the Brady’s, the 70′s and just about everything else. Now, I’m inviting you…

Q: [by rbfelton] Dear Barry, I've watched since I was 5 on the Brady Bunch. Will there be a new Brady Bunch coming up this year of 2004?

A: You can look for us in September on TV Land celebrating our 35th anniversary of the Show as a Special. Also we taped “The Brady’s back in Hawaii” last year for the Travel Channel and that still remains to be aired.

Q: [by Flea_121789] Hey, Ummm… I watched the movie, "Growing Up Brady", And I thought it was great! I wanted to know if anything else happened while you'll were smaller… Off camera… I want you to be very detailed… Please.

A: I appreciate the question but I put everything I felt was of interest in Growing Up Brady the book and the TV Movie.

Q: [by info] What was it like working on the set of Three's Company? I am currently buying alot of the set and love the show. Of course, everyone grew up with the Brady Bunch in one form or the other. It is still great to see the episodes airing.

A: It was a blast. John Ritter was one of the finest television comics of the time. The last time I saw him, was just a few weeks before his passing. He reminded me that the episode we did together was one of his favorite Three’s Company shows. I miss him.

Q: [by rebekahjayne] Hi Barry, If you couldn't be an actor or singer what would you have done as a career/or now?

A: I think law prepares you for just about any business. I wouldn’t want to be a trial lawyer but I think entertainment law would be very interesting.

Q: [by tony726] What did the kids that were not in the scene you were shooting do while u were shooting it. Also I know you said that you never dated any of your "girlfriends" on the show but did any of the girls date their "boyfriends" from the show. Also when is the next time u r coming to Buffalo and do u like the Buffalo Bills.

A: The schedule in part was determined by what time of the year it was. During the school year if you weren’t in a scene you were in school. During the summer our teacher created various projects for us and sometimes there might be a whole day when you could stay home. Regarding “dating”, I don’t think any of the girls dated their on screen boyfriends. Guess the Brady boys just kept the girls too busy. I love the Bills and as you probably know I have been in Buffalo every Thanksgiving weekend for the past several years with the World’s Largest Disco. Take care

Q: [by lovelyrita] Hello, Barry! I am watching the TV1 Barry's Big Brady Bash Marathon at the moment. I was wondering… Did they ever use the footage in "Law and Disorder" where you were, um, well, let's just say 'not yourself'? I watched the scene and you looked fine and not at all stoned!

A: Look again. It is the first scene of the show in the driveway with Mom and Dad and Cindy. When I last saw it I was embarrassed. By the way I had a wonderful time visiting Australia in March. While I performed all over the country I was based in Sydney and look forward to a return visit. Good day to ya.

Q: [by ashley_schosek] Hi, I recently purchased The Brady Bunch Home Movies and Chris Knight said that you made his life heck with your little lighter-clicky thingy. Is there anything else you did to him? Any practical Jokes? I think its so funny…Thanks so much! :)

A: From time to time we would goof on each other but I think torturing him with the Zippo lighter was the best. Partly because he was young and soooo curious.

Q: [by tjohnson] Hello, Barry. I am wondering if you will be doing anymore television appearances or anymore stage shows. take care

A: Sure, I am doing TV and stage shows regularly. The best way to keep up to date is through this website. I just shot a guest bit on The Surreal Life which will air in September. I am looking at a Christmas Tour of a new Musical between Thanksgiving and Christmas and will be starting my new radio show for Sirius satellite next month which will be on six days a week.

Q: [by matt_parsons] What was Barry's most embarrassing concert?

A: I don’t recall being “embarrassed” by a concert but I can remember a few that were tough to get through. The Brady Kids were on a Summer Tour of State Fairs including Ohio and Wisconsin after getting food poisoning a couple of days before. I’d do a song and run for the bathroom. Ouch.

Q: [by lpotchen] I remember a show that I never see in reruns and that I can't find in the episode lists. It guest starred a brother and sister trampoline team. The kids were about 12 or so years old. I can't remember their names but I've always wondered about them. Thanks for any help you can give.

A: I know how frustrating trying to place something like this is. I wish I could help but I have no memory of a Brady episode like the one you describe.
