The Greg Brady Project

Welcome to the official Barry Williams' blog

My friends call me Barry. From time to time I also hear the name Greg. Yeah, as in Greg Brady. The Brady Bunch represents a fun time in my life. But it’s only part of the story. There’s more to say and that’s what The Greg Brady Project is all about – a place to say it. So, I’ve invited some friends to join me and share their perspectives on the Brady’s, the 70′s and just about everything else. Now, I’m inviting you…

Q: [by dandjgoldsmith] Do you like the animated TV show Family Guy?

A: Family Guy. I am not familiar with it. What station, what time, what setting, and most importantly, what do you think about it?

Q: [by lil_bratz4eva2010] Did you like playing the oldest brother and are you the oldest brother out of your real siblings if you have any?

A: I am the youngest in my family with two older brothers. It was great turning that around on the Brady Bunch and I took full advantage of my new found power being the eldest of two brothers and three step sisters.

Q: [by lil_lady_a] Hi Barry! In my previous question, you answered that you like 'Bewitched.' I was wondering whether you are going to see 'Bewitched' the movie coming out in July? I was also wondering what are your thoughts on Australia's very own Nicole Kidman playing the lead in this movie? Thanx

A: Sure, I’ll see the movie. Erin Murphy, Tabitha, is a friend of mine – maybe we’ll go together. Nicole is perfect for Samantha.

Q: [by jrzdave] Hi Barry! Question #1) How did the TV Hit Parade concert/tour come about? Who's idea was it, and who organized Joyce, MacKenzie, Adrian, and yourself? Question #2) Will you be attending next year's TV Land awards? Dr.Dave

A: TV Hit Parade is the brainchild of Musical Director Keith Levenson and Director Martin Charnin. Mackenzie is engaged to Keith, and they created a list of people who they thought would be a good mix for the show and called us. The show was very well received and I hope it evolves into more tours. I don’t have my schedule yet for the TV Land Award show next year but I always have enjoyed participating in the festivities.

Q: [by jared] What are the chords to Till I Met YOU?]

A: A great question. I am on tour and don’t have access to the chords but I am sure you can "surf" it.

Q: [by coulton925] Hi Barry I'm a fan of tv westerns -"Lancer" was one of my favorites. I've been purchasing tapes of the shows and recently watched "Blood Rock." You had some good scenes with both Andrew Duggan and Wayne Maunder and I wondered if you had any particular memories of being on the set? Thanks Sharon

A: It was a very exciting time. Working with Andrew and Wayne was a thrill and it was directed by Barry Nelson. I owned a quarter horse at the time and the show was a part of what I was living in my home life.

Q: [by CROELF] Regarding the show, Fear Factor on NBC, do the contestants buy and bring their own clothes or are they provided by Fear Factor?

A: The contestants, as far as I know provide their wardrobe. From watching recent episodes I think the producers indicate what they would like the contestants to bring. The company did not provide clothes for my episode.

Q: [by swinsteam] Just saw ET in TV Land about THE BRADY BUNCH. Barry, you commented that you made more money doing the Very BRADY X-mas than all five years of Brady Bunch episodes. My question is this: Did you and the other kids get paid per episode or per week throughout the year? How many weeks a year were you working on filming Brady Bunch episodes? Was filming done in the summer months or spring or Winter? Thank you for answering!

A: During the original filming of our show we were paid by the episode and worked mainly during the Spring and Summer.

Q: [by petgirlnz] Hey! it feels weird to be writing to you! I heard about you coming to Australia, did you make it to New Zealand?

A: I had a great time doing a National Tour of The Barry Williams Show throughout Australia last year, and then vacationed up on the Gold Coast. Unfortunately I did not make it to New Zealand, but I look forward to visiting there sometime in the future.

Q: [by jbfrank6] Do you like Kenny Chesney?

A: Sure. I’ll bet he is a favorite of yours.
