The Greg Brady Project

Welcome to the official Barry Williams' blog

My friends call me Barry. From time to time I also hear the name Greg. Yeah, as in Greg Brady. The Brady Bunch represents a fun time in my life. But it’s only part of the story. There’s more to say and that’s what The Greg Brady Project is all about – a place to say it. So, I’ve invited some friends to join me and share their perspectives on the Brady’s, the 70′s and just about everything else. Now, I’m inviting you…

Q: [by chel] Have you watched "My Fair Brady" yet? What do you think of it? Do you still keep in touch with Chris? I think you should totally visit them.

A: Yes, I was at the premier with Chris and Adrianne What do I think of My Fair Brady? Frankly, I don’t really understand it. I like Chris a lot and I hope the show does for him what he wants, which is to get some attention. I hope he doesn’t marry her though. She needs to be on her own for a while, in my opinion, before taking that step. She sure is pretty.

Q: [by Jrose4412] Dear Barry, What was your favorite reunion/ special movie???? Did you get along with "Phillip" and "Wally". Do you know where we can find "The Bradys" 1990 special??? You are a handsome hunk!!! Love, Lisa

A: My favorite Brady reunion was A Very Brady Christmas. I wish Susan Olsen had been in the show, but it was great to be reunited with everyone. It’s kind’ve corny but very sweet. And yes, I got along just fine with all of the other cast members.

Q: [by maialopes] What did you do today for your birthday?

A: I had a great day. I spent most of the day with my two year old son at preschool. He made me a birthday card and sang “happy birthday”. I didn’t know he knew all the words. Evening was with family in Malibu. It’s great to be 49 again. I have started, this year, counting birthdays backwards.

Q: [by calabresenan] Hi Barry. How many of the Brady kids still have parents living. I know they were the reason why you all turned out to be such good people. The support they gave all the kids.

A: Susan Olsen and Eve Plumb have lost both parents.

Q: [by OFF2SHEA] There were some great cars used on the BB,I think I remember a barracuda, my question is what's your favorite TV car?

A: The Batmobile!

Q: [by calabresenan] When the Brady Bunch ended and the six Brady kids went into High School. Did any of you play sports or participate in extracurricular activities and if you or the other Brady kids did which ones.

A: Susan was into ice skating and horses. Michael played piano. I was into tennis and still am. Chris became a body builder.

Q: [by N.Ferrndino] Did u like growing up in the 70s? What was it like being a teenager at that time and are you a hockey fan?

A: Growing up in the seventies was a blast. Lots of freedom and of course adventurous fashion styles.

Q: [by ski_gurl24] Did you ever date a fan?

A: Yes, on purpose once. She kept calling me Greg. Truth is most all of the people I have dated are or were fans of the show. The trick is getting them to understand that my character was a role – not who I really am. Sometimes they are disappointed and I move on, or I just let them call me “Greg”.

Q: [by ashley_schosek] What are your thoughts on "My Fair Brady"?

A: I have to Tivo it. I still haven’t seen it. Feel free to post your ideas.

Q: [by thinkonaut] Dear Barry, did you ever film at the location of the actual house that is shown as the Brady house? I went by there one day in 2001 and I was surprised out how different the real house looks compared to what I imagined it would look like.

A: No, we never filmed at the house.
