The Greg Brady Project

Welcome to the official Barry Williams' blog

My friends call me Barry. From time to time I also hear the name Greg. Yeah, as in Greg Brady. The Brady Bunch represents a fun time in my life. But it’s only part of the story. There’s more to say and that’s what The Greg Brady Project is all about – a place to say it. So, I’ve invited some friends to join me and share their perspectives on the Brady’s, the 70′s and just about everything else. Now, I’m inviting you…

Q: [by douglasdgiusti] What is the name of actress on the time life 70,s music commercial you host?

A: Glad you like it. Her name is Erica Schaffer.

Q: [by westontl] I was wondering if your real-life brothers were ever jealous of your fame with the B.B and your relationship with your "reel-life" brothers. Do they share the same talents as you do? Thank you. A fan forever……Tammy W.

A: No, they weren’t jealous of Peter and Bobby. I think there were times they envied the attention and special treatment I got because of my association with the show. Being a kid on a TV series does change the family balance. Fortunately we have now had time to work through those issues.

Q: [by chbs-jeff] Fantastic website and it is great of you to still appreciate your BB fans after all theses years. I read in your post that you collect pictures more than memorabilia. I have always wanted to see some panned back pictures of the original BB set showing the lights, cameras, crew and layout as it set inside of studio 5. Do you have any you would be willing to share or post.

A: There are 144 pictures about our onset experiences in Growing Up Brady.

Q: [by mike3561] I know that you have heard of the biggest rivalry in the country is the Ohio and Michigan Game who you think before the game will win. I am not going to release who I want to win because I want to see if you think if the one I am a hardcore fan of is your pick. It may or may not be from the same state that I reside in.

A: My loyalty is with Ohio by a touchdown. Thanks for your kind words regarding The Brady Bunch and its values.

Q: [by chavalabobby] Were you ever Superman fan and did you ever wish you would taken Christopher Reeve's place as Superman?

A: I have been a fan of Superman since I watched it with George Reeves on television. No, I have never aspired to playing the Man of Steel, I’d rather be Indiana Jones.

Q: [by sist] Hi Barry. I'm a HUGE Brady Bunch and Sirius 70's fan. I'm 43 and still watch the reruns. What a great time the 70's was!I'm thinking of buying and restoring a 70's muscle car (perhaps a Dodge Super Bee). I was wondering if you owned a classic 70's car and what type.

A: I don’t own a muscle car but I like the Dodge Charger convertible circa 1972 and the Ford Mustang Mach I 1969.

Q: [by yourethechef] I saw you when you toured with City of Angels and you were kind enough to sign my program. What other shows have you been in, and which were your favorites and why? What show would you love to do the most that you have not already? Thanks, and take care!

A: I have appeared in over 75 productions of musicals over the years. My favorite is The City of Angels. Others favorites are The Music Man, Pippin, The Sound of Music and West Side Story. The thing I would like to do most and have not done is to star in an action/adventure movie.

Q: [by GRAMLINS2000] I wanted to know what you thought about Florence Henderson working with Eddie Murphy in "Holy man". And have you ever met Eddie Murphy?

A: Yes, I have met Eddie. He seemed to be a down to earth gentleman. I think the combo of Florence and Eddie was great.

Q: [by JAGFOSH] Have you ever met Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin or been on Deans Variety Show? I have the episode when Florence was on it, she looked real happy to be there ! Greg Fosh

A: I met Frank Sinatra but wish I had met Dean. Listening to Dean’s music always makes me smile. I keep a Greatest Hits CD of his in my player. Frank was and remains the Chairman of the Board.

Q: [by Belleluvsroses] If you'd not been able to become an actor, what else would you have wanted to do in life?

A: Family Psychologist, Medical Dr., or Business attorney.
