Ribbit Ribbit

I went to check out my girlfriend’s show this past Friday night. Well, actually not my current girlfriend, but Greg’s reoccurring girlfriend Rachel on The Brady Bunch, played by Hope Schwartz Juber. Hope is the daughter of our creator Sherwood Schwartz and married to world renowned guitarist and former band member of Wings, Laurence Juber. In the eighties Hope performed in a quasi rock, all female band called The Housewives, which coincidentally also featured Barbara Chase who is Florence Henderson’s daughter.
It was one of Hope’s dreams to turn the experiences she had with the band into a musical. So she collaborated with Laurence to write the music and she partnered with a writing friend to write the book and the result was a really fun, enjoyable Friday night at the theatre for a performance of Housewives 2 in the San Fernando Valley. The fictional story follows the lives of the three girls who make up the Housewives. Their ups and downs their egos, the mess ups and the comebacks and it is done in a very clever way. So clever that sometimes I found myself laughing right through the next joke which may warrant going back to see the show for a second time. In an odd way, because I didn’t have anything to do with creating the show, yet somehow I am proud of Hope. I hope Hope will forgive me (Greg) for taking her out on a date to the drive in all those years ago when that ginormous frog landed on her head and in the middle of our pizza.

Didn’t Laurence Juber also did the music for “A Very Brady Christmas” & “The Bradys 90″

I remember this episode. Bobby tags along and wrecks the date.

Heidi is correct. This is also when Greg got Grounded from the car earlier

My favorite part is how obviously fake the frog is when Greg tries to pick it up off of the pizza!
First: real frog, hopping onto pie, legs thrashing about in the cheese; then: fake frog being lifted up, and remaining stone-still (no thrashing legs), with gooey cheese hanging off of it.
That episode must be adored in French restaurants! I can hear them now: “Hmmm…frog pizza? Tre magnifique! Thank you Brady Bunch!” haha

So, Barry, or would you rather be called Greg? Dumb question, maybe you should just change your name to Garry?
What is it like to see your face on tv, and on the internet o.0
You must feel special.

I am comfortable with people who relate to me only as my character on TV referring to me as Greg, but my friends call me Barry. I do feel special but not just cause I am on TV and the internet — everyone can feel special. All you have to do is declare that you are and it becomes real. Especially yours, Barry

I am glad so many of you recall the Frog episode. Remember the saying, never work with children or animals, well try directing a FROG!

Mike to Greg: You could not drive the car for 1 week…period

Having just watched the Oscars, I thought it might be fun to present the first annual “Brady” awards, honoring outstanding achievements in an episode of The Brady Bunch. For categories, I’d suggest the following:
Best Actor (any male cast member can be nominated for a specific episode)
Best Actress (same for female cast member
Best Writing (nominate episodes
Best Guest Star Performance- Male
Best Guest Star Performance-Female
Best Episode
I’m sure there are other categories as well. I’ll bet Bob and Barry, with help from the fans here, could come up with 5 nominees for each category, and then a popular vote could determine the winner.
Might be fun.

Hey Barry, especially in that episode where Bobby enters his frog Croaker in a frog jumping contest.

Ah yes, the umbrealla through the convertible top and the pepperoni and onion pizza. Was this the “exact words” episode.
A long time fan Barry, own your book and everything. I’ve got so much Brady info in my head that I often wonder how there’s room for much else in there.
