Status for folks my age may be measured by how big your house is or how flashy your car is. But, there used to be a more innocent time when status was measured by a much smaller standard. On the first day of grade school, hundreds of hungry boys and girls marched into the cafeteria with shiny new lunch boxes. Lunch boxes were a big thing back in the 60’s and 70’s. Really big.
Usually your lunch box depicted your favorite TV show or cartoon. I remember going to the school supply section of our local store and spending quite a bit of time trying to decide which lunch box would be the coolest (or grooviest) to carry into the cafeteria. You had to find the right one. A great lunch kit would make you the lunchtime king! I, like most kids back then, had a Brady lunch box. How about you? Brady? Or another popular show?

Houses and cars? Home prices are going down, but your lunch box is going up! $53 and counting on eBay right now. Hope you still have it…although how could you ever sell it?
